An Alawite military helicopter was shot down by freedom fighters, caught fire and crashed after it was hit during a fighting between Assad forces and liberation army in the capital Damascus.
The downing of the helicopter comes during an intense new fighting in the suburbs around Damascus, including a new massacre of more than 300 people by Assad gangs in the Daraya district.

A fighting also takes place between Alawite troops backed by Russian helicopter gunships and freedom fighters in the western Damascus neighborhood of Jobar.
With its forces stretched thin by fighting on multiple fronts, Assad's regime has been increasingly using Russian helicopters and warplanes against the freedom fighters.
