Russian spy agency will flood social networks with spam in fight against Russia's opposition

Publication time: 27 August 2012, 16:11

As reported by UPI and Bloomberg citing a Moscow KGB paper Kommersant, a Russian IT company, Iteranet, is involved in developing software to monitor social networks for the country's intelligence service SVR, a notorious spy agency, 10 thugs of which were sent back to Russia by Obama in summer 2010, so that they do not go on trial in the US.

Kommersant writes on Monday that the SVR will use span to fight Russian opposition accounts not only on Russia's social networks but also on Facebook and Google+. Special anti-antiapam programs are now being developed for the SVR in Russia.

"Russian special services can't control Facebook and Google+. However, they carry out general monitoring of events, and they are already able to search for "loop-holes" in the protection of these resources in order to fight Russia's political opposition", the Moscow paper says.
