Damascus bombing targets military base of Russian puppets

Publication time: 25 September 2012, 13:35

Bombs planted by freedom fighter exploded at a building occupied by Alawite security forces and pro-Assad's militants in Damascus, in yet another strike near the center of Assad's power. Smoke could be seen rising from the site and that ambulances were rushing to the scene. The attack has targeted high-ranking Alawite military officers.

A similar attack in July killed Assad's defense minister and brother-in-law.

At exactly 9:35am, seven improvised devices were set off in two explosions to target a school used for weekly planning meetings between shabbiha militia and security officers. There were several officers present, and it is hoped that they were part of a large number of killed in this operation

Damascus residents also reported heavy clashes for two hours on Baghdad Street in a central district just to the north of the Old City.
