SOMALIA. Harakat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen evacuates Kismayo after ruling it with Sharia for more than 4 years

Publication time: 29 September 2012, 19:42

The military leadership of Harakat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen declared the evacuation of the coastal city of Kismayo after the warships at the coast increased in numbers, and the warplanes increased its presence near the city. Western forces, believed to be Americans, were seen. The city was evacuated for fearing that the city be exposed to intense shelling from sea and air.

The movement emphasized that the city will turn into a fierce battlefield in the coming days. The movement seized the city in late 2008 and ruled it with the Sharia for more than 4 years.

The city witnessed stability, it didn't witness since the fall of Siad Barre. It is expected, Allah willing, that it will be one of the toughest regions for the invaders due to the love of the people for the Mujahideen. Even some of its clans declared its full support to the Mujahideen and pushed hundreds of its sons to the front lines.

Although the Mujahideen withdrew from the city on Saturday morning, the Kenyan forces didn't dare until now to enter to the city.

Kismayo will be transformed from a peaceful city governed by Islamic Sharia into a battle-zone between Muslims and the infidel invaders.

After entering, the puppet regime staged bloodbath. Reports say at least five civilians, including 2 tribal leaders, have been killed in Kismayo by armed militia.

For first time in nearly 5 years, anarchy is the order of the day in Kismayo. Looting and burglary are reportedly taking place in once peaceful city.

Meanwhile, the Mujahideen forces ambushed KDF troops in Canjel, 30km west of Kismayo. 3 vehicles were destroyed and dozens of invaders killed in a 2-hour battle.
