Turkish Foreign Minister said that the Security Council's inability to act inspires the Syrian regime to the new killings.
Speaking to the UN General Assembly, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that the conflict in Syria has killed more than 30,000 people, according to the press service of the organization.
According to him, the Security Council's inability to act in this situation inspires the Syrian regime to the new killings.
Mr. Davutoglu also called on the Assad regime to step down and allow the interim government to lead the country to free elections.
He stressed that "the Syrian regime is using all the tools in order to legitimate the desire of the Syrian people turned into inter-communal war" which will result in "immersing the entire region in flames".
"And, unfortunately, the longer this regime will be allowed to conduct its campaign of violence, the harder it will be to prevent such a horrible scenario", said the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
He added that Turkey supports Syrians in their legitimate struggle and assists refugees from that country. He reported that to date in Turkey found refuge 90 thousands of Syrians.
