Local sources have reported that a male Chechen asylum seeker is facing deportation from Sweden to Russia.
According to the information, Ayndi Aydamirov, born in 1967 is a participant in fighting against Russian invaders in Chechnya. He fought against Russian invaders under the command of the well-known Mujahideen commander, Khamzat Gelayev. However, he was injured and has been forced to leave his homeland Nokhchicho, or Ichkeria/Chechnya, with his family due to serious threats against his life. They arrived in Sweden and asked for asylum, but their request was denied. Ayndi was arrested on May 16 by police in the city of Gavle, Sweden. Since then he has been in a deportation center and awaiting his deportation day. Some believe that his family may be deported after him.
Citizens of Nokhchicho in Sweden announced a protest against the serious deportation threat being leveled against Ayndi Aydamirov. The action will be held in front of the Migration Board's Office at Pyramidvagen 2 A, Solna, Stockholm on October 31 at 10.00am.
