TURKEY. Russian killer Zona confessed murder of C.E. officials

A Russian killer with Georgian citizenship, nicknamed Zona (The Zone) who, according to Turkish authorities, is a double agent of Georgian intelligence and the Russian KGB, confessed that it was he who killed the officials of the Caucasus Emirate in Istanbul, namely - Islam Dzhanibekov in 2008 and Ali Osayev (aka Musa Atayev) in 2009. That was reported by Turkish TV channel Kanal D.

 

In addition, Zona also confessed of being involved in a preparation for killing of three Chechen refugees in Zeytinburnu district in Istanbul on September 16, 2011 - Berg-Hazh Musayev, Rustam Altemirov and Zaurbek Amriyev.

 

According to the KGB killer, the actual perpetrators of the murder in Istanbul were two professional KGB agents who entered Turkey as part of an official delegation of the Russian Olympic Committee.

 

Zona, aka Ruslan Papaskeri, is Georgian citizen. According to American Jamestown Foundation institute, which monitors the situation in the Caucasus, his real name is Ali Dabuyev.

 

Zona's brother, Musa Dabuyev, is also a killer. He was a member of a gang of Chechens and Azerbaijanis led by a police operative of the CID of the Interior Ministry Azerbaijan, Haji Mammadov. The gang kidnapped and killed businessmen in Azerbaijan.

 

In 2005 he was sentenced to life imprisonment. In 2007, the Court of Appeals in in the Azeri capital of Baku upheld the verdict for all gang members. The gang of murderers and kidnappers consisted in total of 26 people. Ten of them were sentenced to life imprisonment.

 

Meanwhile, Turkish TV reported some details in connection with the disclosure of the killings of Chechen refugees in Istanbul.

According to the case file and confessions by Zona (alias Ruslan Papaskeri, alias Ali Dabuyev) the killer used 12 passports in different names. Zona visited in Turkey at least 58 times.

 

The killer was arrested at Istanbul airport by agent of Turkish Counterterrorism Department as he entered the country from Syria and tried to take a flight to Egypt. Turkish media did not specify what was the purpose of killer's visit to Egypt.

 

Five other members of Zona's gang, who were arrested on November 16 and later released on bail, were again arrested and are currently kept in prison section for foreign nationals - part of the police department of Istanbul.

 

The detainees are: trustee and personal representative of Akhmed Zakayev, Uvais Akhmadov, his brother Imran Akhmadov, and their three accomplices - Ali, Turko and Musa.

 

It is known that London-based former democratic Ichkerian foreign minister in exile, Akhmed Zakayev, was in constant contact with Zona using an alias of Uvais Akhmadov, or stepping directly under his own name. In turn, Zona, while in Turkey, resided in the house of Imran Akhmadov.

 

It is to be recalled that some of these persons, in particular, Akhmadov brothers - Uvais and Imran - were previously arrested on charges of an attempted murder of Shamsuddin Batukayev. According the testimony of failed assassin Bakhram Batumayev, he was sent to Turkey from Chechnya on Kadyrov's orders. A Kadyrov's aide - Bai-Ali Tevsiyev - gave him instructions in person. He said to Batumayev that he would be met in Turkey by Uvais Akhmadov and get all further instructions from him.

 

Batumayev later changed his testimony. As reported by witnesses, he said in a private conversation that Uvais Akhmadov threatened to kill his relatives in Chechnya if he didn't withdraw his testimony.

 

It is known for sure that in 2010, Uvais Akhmadov received from Kadyrov ˆ 500,000 in advance for the killings of the supporters of the Caucasus Emirate abroad. Money brought o Uvais Akhmadov by Umar Sugaipov, a former representative of the CRI in England and assistant of Akhmed Zakayev. Sugaipov came to Turkey via Azerbaijan.

 

Meanwhile, Turkish media reported that 2 special pistols, 6 clips and ammunition were seized during the arrest of Zona and other members of his gang on November 16.

 

A Turkish TV channel, Kanal D, reported that during his confessions, Zona admitted that he had personally killed Islam Dzhanibekov in 2008, and Ali Osayev (Musa Atayev) in 2009, headed the foreign mission of the Caucasus Emirate.

 

KC sources, in turn, said that before killing Musa Atayev, Zona living in his house for 2 weeks. 2 days before the murder, he said that he was going to the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.

 

On February 26, at about 11:00 pm, Zona waited for Musa Atayev at the entrance of his home and shot at the back. Then he made a control shot at the head. Outdoor surveillance video camera recorded the killer from behind. Zona admitted that he was wearing a wig.

 

Zona also shot at Islam Dzhanibekov in the back, as he opened the trunk of his car near the house and then shot him dead at his head.

 

The killer also confessed that he was helping two other KGB agents in organizing the murder of three other Chechen refugees on September 16, 2011, in Istanbul's Zeytinburnu district.

 

According to him, the killing was all-in-all operationally supervised by several people who live in Istanbul. Turkish media have not yet reported their names and did not specify what was the role of Ruslan Papaskeri (aka Ali Dabuyev) in organizing the triple murder.

 

According to Zona, two KGB agents came to Turkey with an official delegation of Russian Olympic Committee. For two days, they were following their targets, and on September 16, they carried out a successful assassination.

 

The KGB killers fled Turkey with false passports.

 

It is to be recalled that according to Turkish media, the murder of three Chechen refugees was perpetrated by Nadim Yusupov and Alexander Zharkov. It were these two killers who had shot dead the Chechens.

 

The name of Kadyrov's aide Ziyauddin Makhayev and a woman named Maria M. were disclosed. She left Turkey after the assassinations under the guise of the wife of Makhayev.
