Mujahideen drive French and puppet forces out of Malian city

Publication time: 10 February 2013, 23:29

According to AFP and Le Monde, a large unit of Mujahideen of MUJAO (Mouvement pour l'Unicité et le Jihad en Afrique de l'Ouest, the Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa) attacked on February 10 positions of the puppet army in the center of strategically important city of Gao which gives access to desert settlements in the north, and seized the city center, along with the chief military target of the main police commissariat.

Counterattacks by French invaders and their puppets were repulsed. The Mujahideen attacked puppet reinforcements from the roof of the commissariat.

French reinforcements also did not help. Peaceful Muslims were killed by French invaders during the battle. AFP reported that witnesses saw murdered Muslim civilians in the streets. French troops are concentrated at the airport of Gao.

The Mujahideen distributed a communiqué on Sunday evening which reads:

"Today Allah's faithful successfully attacked the Malian army which invited the enemies of Islam to come to Gao. The Mujahedeen are in the city of Gao and will remain there".

On Saturday, the Mujahideen carried out another martyr attack at the same checkpoint of the puppets at the entrance to Gao, which was subjected to martyrdom attack on Friday. The puppets conceal their losses in both attacks.

Earlie ron Saturday, a spokesman for the Mujahideen, Abou Walid Sahraoui, said:

"We promise to carrying out more attacks against France and its allies. We ask the local population to stay far away from military zones to avoid losses".
