A statement of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) on the situation in Mali has been posted on Islamic websites. The Kavkaz Center presents to its readers the complete text of the statement:
AQAP: Statement regarding crusader France intervention in war against Mali
The decision of intervention that was taken by the French government in Mali does not serve its interests, and it looked with its eyes not the eyes of the French people or its interest.
Its withdrawal from Afghanistan was prudence from it, so how did you take this decision and in this region in particular despite that its history with these peoples was a bloody history that incites all the Muslims?!
O' French people, this aggression, injustice and oppression of the people will only return to you with barrage and scourge, and you have a lesson in your previous how long did it continue? And how did it end? How much longer will you not learn the lesson? Don't pull the wool over our eyes! You claim that you came to protect Mali and help it! Where were you from years ago from its tragedy?! Where are you from protecting Palestine from the crimes of the Jews?! Where were you from protecting the Iraqi and Syrian people and other oppressed peoples if you were truthful?!
What makes sense is that this aggression is a crusade on the land of Islam and its people, and that isn't strange! Since a short time ago you assaulted the Hijab of the Moslem people, and today (you assaulted) the governance of the Sharia, you didn't respect your false laws in your land nor your cruel covenants with others, so where is your democracy that you drawl about?!
We in Al-Qaeda Organization in the Arabian Peninsula we advice the French government and people to retract from this aggression and pay attention to your deteriorating economy and internal problems, so don't increase the problems, and you have a lesson in the fate of the Americans, and ask them since none can inform you like the one who is aware.
America tasted from the slaughter in Iraq and Afghanistan which made it bite the fingers of regret, so look at that with reason if you have a concern for your lives. The Muslims are one body, and their Ummah is one and they can't see their brothers in religion assaulted and oppressed and not rise up to support them against who oppressed them.
The power of the mujahidin today is different than it was yesterday, their armies multiplied, and have their brigades spread, and they are one hand against who assault them, the Almighty said:
''And whoever defends himself after his being oppressed, these it is against whom there is no way (to blame''.
(The Holy Quran, Chapter 42. "Councel, Consultation ", verse 41)
And to Allah belongs the might and to His Messenger and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know.
