Syria: Battle for Qusayr. Fightings in Aleppo

Publication time: 21 May 2013, 13:10

The fierce battle for Qusayr on the border with Lebanon was one of the bloodiest in Syria. Thousands of Assadites, Shiites from the Lebanese Hezbollah, shabbihas and Iranian mercenaries attacked the city from 9 directions. It involved dozens of tanks, aircraft, rocket launchers.

Shells and rockets fell on the city at 50 rounds per minute.

Media of Assad regime and the Russian mass media were quick to announce that the city was taken and the troops were carrying out "cleansings". However, the victorious reports turned premature.

The combined forces of the Mujahideen gave tough resistance to stalking gangs of Shiites and Assadites.

Two powerful martyrdom special operations literally shook the enemy. Mujahideen of the Al-Nusra Front from Morocco and Saudi Arabia attacked Shiite gangs in trucks, stuffed with 7 and 12 tons of explosives. This attack had destroyed more than 90 Shiites of Hezbollah and shabbihas. Hundreds were injured.

Attempts of the Shiite gangs to gain a foothold in the city were repulsed. Almost from all directions the Mujahideen counter-attacked the enemy and drove it out of town.

The Mujahideen captured trophies, mostly made in Iran. The so-called "passport to paradise" was discovered with the killed Shiites of Hezbollah and Iranian mercenaries

On Tuesday the fightings in Qusayr were positional. Shiite Hezbollah gangs only for one day on Sunday lost more than 120 elements.

35 members of Hezbollah and Assadites were killed, 2 tanks hit during the fighting on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, fierce battles for the airport Menneg and the assault on largest prison in which from 4 to 6,000 Muslim prisoners, including 150 Islamic scholars, sheikhs, and up to 800 women are held, are continuing in the neighbourhood of Aleppo.

The day before, after afternoon prayer, the Mujahideen of the Army of Emigrants and Supports destroyed a self-propelled howitzer with a Fagot anti-tank guided missile. Assadites once again tried to break through the positions of Islamic fighters in the area of the prison, but they did not succeed.

KC sources report that the last bastion of Assadites in the airport is a command headquarters, and fightings are now taking place to capture it.

With regard to the prison, it is completely surrounded. A big concrete building near the prison, which was used as an outpost for Assadites to repulse Mujahideen attacks, was captured during the last operation.

According to the latest data, a tank column breaks through to help the Assadites. They are opposed by a unit of Mujahideen of Emir Seifullah al-Chechen. On Tuesday morning the Mujahideen managed to knock out two tanks.

Shiites are concentrated in two areas - Nabbul and Zahra. The Mujahideen of the Army of Emigrants and Supports attacked them using rocket systems Grad and 130 mm. howitzers. Fightings continue.

KC sources also reported that in the neighborhood of Sheikh Said (Aleppo) in offensive combat was martyred, Insha'Allah, brother of the famous Dagestani scholar, doctor of Sharia law, Murtazali, Rahimullah, who was killed by Russian invaders from the death squads in Dagestan in 2009.
