Egypt. Sinai Mujahideen accuse military junta in inventing fictional victories

Publication time: 7 September 2013, 17:38

The Mujahideen on the Sinai peninsula mock at fictitious victories by Egyptian army and accused the military junta in the massacre of civilians and kidnappings.

The movement As-Salafi Al-Jihad, known for its influence in Sinai, published a press release in connection with a series of enemy statements on Egyptian army battles with the Mujahideen on the border with Gaza.

It is to be recalled that on Tuesday, the Egyptian army junta announced "major" operations against the Mujahideen in Sinai. Army helicopters attacked the "den of militants" in the area of Rafah. As a result, 8 "terrorists" were reportedly killed and 15 wounded.

Meanwhile, Mujahideen commanders refuted the apostates' lies.

"During this operation, we have seen how innocent people are arrested and accused of being the Mujahideen. They filmed bombed houses of civilians and called it "a base of Mujahideen", and openly lied about a lot of dead Mujahideen".

Meanwhile, the military putschists' army sent additional troops into Sinai. As reported by Al-Jazeera, the troops and armoured vehicles will be used against the Mujahideen in the city of Rafah and the villages al-Kura and al-Zahir.

TV sources reported that early, powerful explosions had been heard in the vicinity of Sheikh Zuwayid. The junta used Apache helicopters and ground troops.

Eyewitnesses report that a column of tanks, trucks with infantry, rocket launchers and other military vehicles moved along a road in the area.

It is to be recalled that earlier, so-called "Israel" allowed Egypt to move troops into Sinai. According to the Camp David treaty, Egypt could have only limited army contingency in Sinai, and any increase of its troops should be agreed with this "Israel".
